With the water taken out
This is the dry-matter basis, with 11% moisture removed. Foods of differing moisture can only be compared this way.

Carbohydrate is not printed on the label. It is what remains after subtracting everything else from 100, so every other error collects here — read it as an order of magnitude.

Top and bottom describe magnitude only, not quality. High phosphorus is not better, and low fibre is not worse.
Calcium to phosphorus
1.60 : 1Within the recommended 1:1–2:1 range
During growth, both too little and too much calcium affect skeletal development. For a dog that will mature above 32 kg, the ceiling is 1.8% calcium on a dry-matter basis — this product is 0.90%.
The character of this food
Who it suits, and when
- Everyday feeding for an adult dog or cat
- Growth, gestation and lactation
Two animals of the same weight can need different amounts depending on age, activity and whether they are neutered. Work out the actual portion in the feeding calculator.
What to feed alongside
Being dry food, little water comes in with the meal. Keep fresh water available, and consider adding wet food on top.
